The Buddhist Capital is situated in a scenic valley in Lu Shan County. The existing facilities included a 155m high bronze Buddha statue, worship platforms, a temple and a bell tower. New buildings include three major temples ─ Sorpor World Temple, Eternity Temple and Luili World Temple, other new buildings include a lecture hall, a Buddhist academy, a martial arts academy and a residential hall.
The concept for the three major temples incorporated the essence of traditional temples in Tibet and through modern interpretation produced a new temple design reflecting traditional spirit with contemporary expression.
