The Home is a two storey courtyard complex set in a countryside village. The slanting solar panel on the roof reflected a concern on local identity and environment. Every bedroom is designed with cross ventilation. The brief called for the preservation of an old building in the middle of the site containing a chapel which forms the focus of the complex. The shape of the existing building helped to determine the three courtyards in the complex. Overall the Home is designed as a big family dwelling to create a homely atmosphere for the children. |
