The site is situated on a mountain slope overlooking the Huaqing Hot Springs in the outskirts of Xian, off the road leading to the site of the Museum of Terra-Cotta Warriors. The project is an attempt to design a low rise hotel complex, which is to be built with the maximum use of local materials, to provide an appropriate solution for the locality with an atmosphere full of local traditional environment for habitat. This approach contrast sharply with the trend of high rise, curtain wall international style of solutions we see everywhere in the major cities of China.
The project is self contained with restaurant, theatre, conference rooms and business centre facilities together with 187 rooms. Most rooms are grouped around landscaped gardens with a commanding view over the countryside.
